Wood-fired cooking allows you to cook a range of foods, not just pizza – you can cook almost anything in a pizza oven in the same way as your usual oven! Cooking with a wood-fired oven gives the food a smokier, completely unique flavour. It also doubles up as a great outdoor fireplace to sit around as the day turns to dusk.
It has been known for people to cook a turkey at Christmas outside in the snow, so we don’t see why not! As long as your oven is weather-proofed, and you adhere to slower firing techniques, you should be fine to cook pizza all winter.
Each oven has its own specifications, so we recommend visiting the product page for your oven, or asking during delivery & installation. Also note, heat up times will depend on the outdoor temperature and moisture content of the oven.
Yes! You can cook a range of items in your wood-fired oven. Try cooking pulled pork to sample, fish, or try your hand at bread! Your oven is capable of cooking most things a conventional, kitchen oven can, so why not give it a go?
No! Because of the high temperatures your oven will reach, any and all food/dirt within the oven is burnt away. You can scrape off extra food using a pizza peel available on our website. All you will need to do is clear the ashes away from the oven once cooled.
You can cook pizzas, breads, and meats directly on the bricks in the traditional way. Any mess can be cleaned away by simply burning it away with the hot coals. There is no need to spend any money on expensive cooking equipment.
Our larger traditional pizza ovens are unfortunately not portable in the traditional sense – they’re made to be garden pieces! However, you can purchase a portable pizza oven if that’s more convenient for you.
